Ultimate Safaris & Islands are 100% committed to preserving and sustaining the magnificent African Continent on which we operate. We feel one should give as well as take. To that end we support several charities which ensure the future protection of Africa’s spectacular habitat and wildlife heritage, and also develop social and community projects.

Tusk Trust is a highly respected wildlife charity founded in 1990. With the ultimate aim of securing a peaceful coexistence for Africa’s wildlife and its people, the charity has successfully initiated, funded, and operated a number of important conservation projects across Africa. Tusk is particularly interested in the conservation of endangered species and their habitats, and actively supports the protection of rhinos, cheetahs, elephants, wild dogs and chimpanzees. It also recognises that education, sustainable rural development, and support from local communities are all essential for the success of long term conservation and the uplifting of poor Africans in the countryside.

Climate Care is an organisation which enables you to calculate how much your flight is adding to global warming, and to repair the damage. Your flight will be the largest environmental impact of your holiday.

You are able to donate a payment to Climate Care that will fund projects that reduce emissions by the same amount that your individual share of the flight creates, making your journey to Africa "climate neutral".

Climate Care does this by funding renewable energy projects or reforestation which either reduce emissions at source or absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The work of Climate Care is monitored by a non-government environmental committee, including members such as the World Wildlife Fund and Forum for the Future.
