Overlooking the startling blue waters of Tamarin Bay on the west coast of Mauritius the recently opened Taj Exotica and Spa, built in French colonial style, offers an exclusive haven of solitude and luxury. The west coast is blessed with incredibly pure white beaches.
The Taj Exotica is set in 27 acres of lush gardens, in these there are 65 sensationally designed private villas. Each has its own plunge pool with a spectacular sea view, alfresco dining area, infinite views over the Indian Ocean and an open air garden shower.
There are two presidential suites which have two bedrooms and bathrooms and a living room which leads onto a spacious terrace with a large infinity pool.
In keeping with the relaxed chic of the whole resort, dining is entirely flexible. Romantic private meals are easily arranged by the villas and at the all day restaurant dining options include Mediterranean, Mauritian and international cuisine. The specialty restaurant Cilantro prepares the finest Pan-Asian and Indian cuisine.
Activities include all the usual watersports, diving and deep-sea fishing, access to an eighteen-hole golf course and two floodlit tennis courts.
