Chitabe Lediba is situated a very short distance away from Chitabe Camp, in the south-east of the Okavango Delta. It is in an enormous concession that borders Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve. Like Chitabe Camp it is on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta. Chitabe Lediba has the full diversity of Okavango scenery with open floodplains, waterways, marshlands, dry acacia, mopane woodland, riverine areas and open grasslands.
‘Lediba’ is Setswana for pool or lagoon and is fitting seeing that the camps looks over a natural waterhole / channel.
Accommodation at Chitabe Lediba consists of five spacious and luxuriously appointed East African style tents that have en-suite facilities. Having only five units the camp has a very intimate feel and it’s fantastic for groups of families or friends to hire out exclusively. Each room is on a raised deck and has an indoor shower as well as an outdoor one overlooking the floodplain. The room interiors are of the same standard as its sister camp, Chitabe. There is a dining area, lounge and pool. The camp overlooks a waterhole, where elephants and plains game often come down to drink during the day.
The variety of habitats at Chitabe creates an abundance of wildlife to be seen, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, reedbuck and impala. The elusive wild dog is also occasionally sighted. Night drives provide opportunities for guests to see nocturnal creatures on their safari such as civet, serval, genet, pangolin, porcupine and aardwolf. Other activities include nature walks and spectacular bird watching. Chitabe also has two elevated hides located in the reserve, where guests can experience a "sleep out" under the stars of the Okavango Delta in full comfort and safety.
