Savuti Camp

Savuti Camp is located in an isolated part of the Linyanti reserve, about 17 kilometres 'downstream' from the source of the Savuti. Since it stopped flowing in 1980, what was a hippo-filled river is now grassland, and a legendary predators' enclave. The waterhole in front of the camp is the only source of water over a large area in winter and therefore offers marvellous wildlife viewing.

Savuti has recently been redesigned with more emphasis on the views over the grasslands of the channel. Accommodation is in seven stunningly decorated large walk-in tents with en-suite bathrooms. The tents have all been re-built to face the channel and a great deal of emphasis has been put on privacy. One of the tents is now a family unit with two rooms. The camp has a thatched dining area which has been turned around to overlook the channel and the deck area has been extended for star lit dinners next to the fire. The bar and plunge pool have wonderful views of the waterhole.

Activities on offer are day and night safari game drives, guided nature walks and several hides for safe, up-close animal viewing. Botswana's Savuti Camp's "woodpile hide" is famous for the finest in elephant viewing where one literally feels what it is like to be with the herd. Game concentrations are high, particularly in winter, and apart from plains game there are roan, sable, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog.
