Situated in Kenya’s Masai Mara, bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves in an untouched 250,000 acre exclusive concession Cottars 1920’s provides the client with a guarantee of privacy and an abundance of wildlife.
The Cottar Safari tradition began in 1919. 80 years on, it continues to provide an unparalleled safari experience for our clients in Africa. Extending an era of luxury and quality, a Cottars Safari returns to the original spirit and essence of ‘safari’, reminiscent of a golden era – a time of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance.
Cottars 1920’s Camp has eight authentic white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished. They incorporate original safari antiques from the '20's, private en suite dressing rooms, bathrooms and a veranda. There is a swimming pool at the camp.
Calvin and Louise Cottar live at the camp and are complemented by highly experienced and knowledgeable guides. The area of the Masai Mara that surrounds Cottar’s is stunning and incredibly diverse. Calvin and his team will take you on walks through the bush to experience close encounters with wildlife. Being close to the border with the Serengeti, the spectacular wildebeest migration moves through this area every year and prolific game viewing is guaranteed whether on foot or in a four wheel drive safari vehicle. Other activities include river swimming and fishing, bush meals and massage.
