Perched between Kenya's northern deserts and the snowy twin peaks of Mount Kenya, Lewa Safari Camp looks out across one of the richest ecosystems in Africa. Within these 65,000 acres of bush, forests, plains and swamps is a density and diversity of wildlife as great as anywhere on the continent.
Lewa Safari Camp has 12 tents, each within a thatched structure, accommodating up to 26 guests. The tents are comfortable and well-appointed with an en-suite shower room with flush loo. The central areas have exquisite gardens with a sunny veranda and swimming pool to enjoy during the day, and cosy log fires in the lounge and dining room in the chilly evenings.
Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, formerly a working cattle ranch and otherwise known as Lewa Downs, has been in the Craig family since 1924. Three generations of the family continue to be involved in daily operations on Lewa. The wildlife here is excellent, with 10% of Kenya's Black Rhinos, 20% of its White Rhinos and the single largest population of Grevy's zebra in the world. It is also possible to see all of Africa's Big Five.
World renowned wildlife conservancy, made famous in the National Geographic programme "Game Ranger's Diaries".
