Chada Katavi camp is in the heart of Katavi National Park. It is set under a canopy of acacia and tamarind trees on a peninsular overlooking the wide Chada Plain. Game is often easily viewed from camp.
There are six large, romantic guest safari tents with large shade netting windows to let in lots of light and cool breezes. Private bathroom tents are set just behind with traditional safari style bucket showers, and long drop toilets. Hot and cold water is available on demand. There is a large mess tent, separate library tent, fireplace and, of course, dining under the stars.
Activities centre on game drives in four wheel drive safari vehicles. There are also daily walks and fly camping under the stars is also an option. In addition to the great game, the birding is outstanding and the plains are alive with wild flowers at certain times of the year. Longer three to four day walking safaris taking you further out into the wilder areas of the park can be arranged.
This camp combines very well with Greystoke Mahale in Mahale Mountains National Park.
