The ultra luxurious Sasakwa Hill Lodge is an exclusive lodge on the Grumeti Reserves bordering the western Serengeti National Park. It is an incredibly opulent permanent camp situated on top of Sasakwa Hill, with awe-inspiring views over Tanzania’s Serengeti plains.
The quality and luxury of Sasakwa Hill Lodge is unrivaled in East Africa. Sasakwa is built in the grand style of an English manor house. There are seven suites, ranging in size from one to four bedrooms. Each air-conditioned suite has a lounge with fireplace, veranda with spotting scope, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, guest bathroom, dressing area, direct dial telephone facilities and wireless internet access. The main lodge areas offer a dining room, lounge and bar, garden room, television room with satellite television, DVD player and collection, reading library with internet facilities, billiards room, wine cellar, all of which open onto wide verandas and sprawling lawns.
The migration can be seen if you are at the camp at the time of year it moves through the Grumeti. All through the year however there is a lot of permanent resident game in this area and safari game drives offer the opportunity to see it.
The lodge also has two tennis courts (clay and grass), a gymnasium, spa with steam room, and a heated infinity swimming pool and jacuzzi. An equestrian centre is situated a few minutes walk from Sasakwa Hill Lodge and is home to sixteen horses. More experienced riders can enjoy riding onto the Serengeti plains.
