It starts and ends in London Heathrow. Our price includes all the flights in between - some of these will be spectacular helicopter transfers.
Days 1, 2 & 3
After a night flight from London Heathrow into Johannesburg airport, you will transfer to your connecting flight with Air Botswana to Maun. Here you will be met by your pilot who will take you to your light aircraft for your flight to Zarafa. Zarafa is the premier camp of the Selinda reserve. You will stay here for three nights.
Zarafa Camp is in the Selinda Reserve which is a private 330,000 acre wildlife area located in northern Botswana. What makes this locale special is that it follows the floodplains of the Selinda Spillway, the waterway that winds its way through dry countryside to connect the Okavango Delta in the west to the Linyanti and Kwando wetlands and rivers in the east. Accommodation is in four large, luxuriously appointed double or twin 'marquis style' tents. Each generous tent and veranda is positioned under cool and shady trees to emphasise the spectacular view and comprises a spacious bedroom, en-suite bathroom, a copper bath and shower as well as outdoor shower.
Selinda Reserve is known for its abundant plains game ding lechwe, kudu, buffalo, zebra and giraffe. It's also a predator-rich reserve including cheetah, wild dog, lion, and leopard. The massive herds of elephant and wide variety of birds are another highlight of this area.
Days 4, 5 & 6
Following an outstanding brunch your guide will drive you to the Zarafa airstrip where your light aircraft will take you to Vumbura Plains, a Premier luxury camp situated in a private concession in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta. The concession, which is leased from the neighbouring community, includes a wide variety of habitats, diverse wildlife and an enormous traversing area of 60,000 hectares.
This luxurious premier camp consists of two separate seven–roomed satellite camps. All of the luxury rooms are raised off the ground on wooden platforms with walkways connecting them to the main living areas. Each room has a large, very comfortable bedroom, a lounge, an outside 'sala' and en-suite facilities with an indoor and outdoor shower with plunge. The main dining, lounge and bar area is tucked beneath a canopy of shady, indigenous trees with a wonderful vista across the floodplains.
Vumbura Plains Camp offers both land and water activities with nature viewing in varied habitats in open 4x4 vehicles, nature walks, mokoro trips and boat excursions. Whilst exploring the spectacular ecology of this area, one can enjoy close-up viewing of lion, leopard, elephant, cheetah and buffalo along with all the plains game.
Days 7, 8 & 9
After you have brunch your guide will take you back to the airstrip for your onward flight to Little Mombo Camp. Here your guide will meet you and game drive you back to camp. Little Mombo Camp is a premier camp situated on Mombo Island within the Moremi Game Reserve of the Okavango Delta in northern Botswana.
Little Mombo Camp is built under a shady canopy and has three luxurious, spacious rooms under canvas with en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers for guests looking to get closer to nature. A sala, large veranda, pool and lounge area provide ample place to relax and enjoy the view.
The camp offers abundant big game safari viewing, arguably the best in Botswana. The highlight is the concentration of plains game and all the predators - including the big cats. Lion sightings are particularly good. Guests can also see leopard, large herds of buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, elephant, hyena, giraffe, wildebeest and zebra. Black and white rhino have been reintroduced to this area of the Okavango with outstanding success thanks to the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Programme.
